Privacy Policy
Last updated: Draft — not yet reviewed
This page is a draft and must not be published as-is.
It sets out what FairHome intends, so the work can be reviewed. It has not been through legal review, it is not binding, and the sections listed as outstanding are genuinely missing.
This policy describes the information FairHome handles and the privacy topics that apply to the service.
Information used for a public property check
A public property check records the address selected, the parcel it resolves to and the result FairHome produces. The property check does not require an account.
Property information returned during the check may come from public government records. Public availability of property information does not establish the identity, ownership or authority of the person performing the lookup.
Information you provide directly
The contact form records the name, email address, topic and message you submit so FairHome can receive and respond to the request.
If you create an account after a property check, FairHome may associate information from that check with the account as part of the registration flow. The final policy must describe the account information collected and the purposes for which it is used.
Account and property information
A FairHome account may contain properties you save, property information retrieved from authoritative sources, FairHome analyses, evidence or documents you provide, and information created while you use supported FairHome features. Saving a public property to an account does not by itself establish ownership or authorization.
The final policy must accurately describe any ownership or authorization verification information FairHome collects if those controls are introduced for protected actions.
Retention and deletion
Public property checks are retained according to the configured FairHome retention period. Account, property, appeal, evidence and other records may require different retention rules depending on their purpose and applicable requirements.
The final policy must state the actual retention periods or the criteria used to determine them, including what happens when a user removes a property, closes an account or asks for deletion. It must also identify any records FairHome is required or permitted to retain after such a request.
Service providers, analytics and transfers
FairHome may rely on service providers to operate parts of the service. The final policy must identify the relevant categories of providers and accurately explain what information they process on FairHome’s behalf.
Any analytics, cookies or similar technologies used by the production service must be described based on the actual implementation. International data transfers and any applicable transfer safeguards must also be addressed where relevant.
Your privacy rights
The privacy rights available to a user depend on the laws that apply to FairHome and to that user. The final policy must identify the applicable rights, how to exercise them, how identity is verified for a request and the contact route for privacy questions.
Before this policy can be published
The operating legal entity, privacy contact, applicable jurisdictions, lawful bases for processing, actual retention rules, service providers and subprocessors, international transfers, cookies and analytics, individual rights, security and breach-related disclosures, and any legally required notices must be confirmed with counsel.
