Data & transparency

Know where the information comes from.

FairHome does not ask you to trust a number without context. We show where available information came from, which year it belongs to and what kind of information it is.

Official property data brought together and traced back to its source

Authoritative sources first

FairHome prioritizes official government APIs and structured datasets when reliable sources are available, and uses official published documents when appropriate.

Year matters

Assessment year, tax year, payable year and source-data year can mean different things. FairHome keeps year-specific information in context rather than silently substituting an older value.

Missing means missing

When reliable official information cannot be obtained for the requested context, FairHome identifies the limitation rather than filling the gap with stale, guessed or unrelated information.

Different values stay distinct

Retrieved, calculated, estimated and user-entered values are not the same. FairHome keeps those distinctions visible where the information is used.

Sources and limitations stay visible

FairHome keeps available source information connected to the property data and analysis it supports. Where practical, that provenance includes:

  • Source agency
  • Dataset or document
  • Source URL
  • Requested year
  • Source-data year
  • Retrieval date
  • Whether a value was retrieved, calculated, estimated or user-entered

FairHome is not a government agency

Availability of property information and FairHome services varies by jurisdiction. FairHome analyses and estimates are informational and do not guarantee an assessment reduction, exemption approval or tax savings.
